Quainton Windmill Society - Preserving our magnificent past for future generations to enjoy.

Quainton Windmill is located in the picturesque village of Quainton in Buckinghamshire between Aylesbury and Bicester (see map). The 188 year old mill sits proudly above the Village Green close to the George & Dragon public house and restaurant. There are fewer than 40 working windmills in the UK and so it is truly a sight to behold.

It is open every Sunday from 10.00 to 12.30 hours.

Over the last seven years a team of volunteers have completed a major refurbishment, and whenever possible the sails will be operating. The mill is fortunate in having much of its original machinery throughout its six storeys enabling corn to be ground. The owner is Colin Dancer who is a direct descendent of James Anstiss who built the mill in 1832.
